Making preserves in Galloway since 1971
Galloway Lodge has been making jams, marmalades and chutneys in Gatehouse of Fleet since 1971. The business was started here over fifty years ago, and is now run by the second generation, Ruaridh and Naomi Hesketh. We're still doing it the same way: small batches, proper ingredients, and recipes that haven't needed fixing.
We're based in Dumfries and Galloway, in the south west corner of Scotland. Our marmalades, jams, chutneys and condiments are made in our own kitchens, not bought in from someone else and rebranded.
What we stand for
Good preserves start with good ingredients and a bit of patience. We don't cut corners to speed things up or cheapen a recipe. If something takes longer to do properly, we take longer to do it properly.
That's meant sticking with traditional methods even when it would be easier not to, and building recipes around what tastes right rather than what's cheapest to produce. It's why people who tried us in the 1970s are still buying from us now, and why new customers keep finding us.
Where we are today
Galloway Lodge is part of Preservers & Co., a food manufacturer based here in Gatehouse of Fleet. We supply independent shops, farm shops and foodservice customers across the UK, as well as selling direct.
We're SALSA accredited, which means our food safety and quality systems are checked and audited to a recognised UK standard, so you can trust what's on the label is what's in the jar.
Still local, still small batch
We're proud to still be making preserves in the same part of Scotland we started in, using methods that put flavour and quality ahead of shortcuts. If you want to know more about a particular product, or you're looking to stock Galloway Lodge in your shop or business, get in touch. We're always happy to talk.
